On Tuesday 8 September, POM West Flanders is hosting a Deep Dive on two interactive tools for offshore wind and maritime spatial planning. The session runs from 7 to 8pm at Bluebridge, Wetenschapspark 1, Ostend, and is part of the Belgian Hub week of the ORESA project.
Curious how choices around offshore wind and other North Sea activities get weighed up? This session introduces two tools built to map exactly that.
The first is the Decomexplorer, which explores different scenarios for decommissioning offshore wind farms, covering costs, logistics, biodiversity, regulations and available technologies.
The second is the North Sea Visualizer, an interactive tool developed by Howest that lets users experience how activities such as offshore wind, fisheries, aquaculture and nature conservation could be accommodated in the North Sea, with scenarios mapped out to 2050.
The Deep Dive is open to ORESA consortium members as well as other interested parties from the offshore wind sector and the wider blue economy. Participation is free, but registration is required.
